It is true fact that T-shirts sometimes say the darnedest things. Once I saw a T-shirt that uttered: “Destroy Mass Culture. Rebuild. Repeat.”

To go on making money, the mass culture industry does some quite spiteful things to the different art forms they most definitely embrace, whether you’re talking fashion, music, or whatever else.

Let’s take for example 1970s disco music. In the 70s, every single person loved disco music. Almost everybody. But some people still love it and some not.

But just half a year before the 1980s began; the disco music of the 70s was ridiculed by the mass media, and made to look rather worthless and pointless. Somehow all people were convinced that anyone who listened to disco at that point was considered somehow really weird and a type of a loser. Indeed, pop culture made a significant impact on the tastes of each and every nation. In the 1990s, the same occasion happened. You would seldom find someone listening to the music of 80s. That was not cool!

At that time rap and alternative music was totally dominating the mainstream, but at the same time disco music type was making a comeback. It is necessary to face that the categorization of music has become incredibly ridiculous, and even though 70s disco music had now turned into ‘dance-pop music’, or ‘house music’ the influence of disco branch was still strongly evident. That is the actual reason why songs like Madonna’s “Vogue” were most obviously topping the charts.

It is true fact that Popular Culture industries know how to easily manipulate people. How it is able to influence our minds? By appealing to us, and manipulating the individual and collective egos.

For example disco music was the pop style of the times, and was totally directed at the teenage ego. It is true fact that people of all ages really enjoyed disco, but the teenagers were the primary target of it.

After the decade the teenagers of 80s become ignored as they become out of high school, and in their young 20s were going to or dropping out of university or college, were getting their first job, may be even starting a family. And all they were wondering what the hell happened to their good music. Some years later this category of people become rather ‘valuable’ for mass culture and their beloved music style came back. Only that time, perhaps they called it ‘classic’ or ‘retro’ and ‘old school’ music.

But still Pop Culture industries are keeping trying. And while the surface of pop culture seems to change, underneath it all mass culture does not really evolve. I think that it just is going around in circles and still fulfills a human need.

Who would dare to mind that movies have become an unalienable part of our life and culture. Up to date there has been produced a great quantity of films and it has caused need in movie reviews. Nowadays start of the Ology showing in cinemas is made a big event.

So, if you want to stay tuned to the latest buzz from the movie world, then use this piece of advice: never forget that today the online technologies give you a really unique chance to choose what you want for the best price on the market. Strange, but most of the people don’t use this chance.

Currently every industry has been influenced by the world crisis and the film industry is not an exception. Search Google or other search engines for “getting laid“. All this will help you to build up a true vision of the situation.
